Privacy Policy (Anchor iOS App)

Anchor (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a local-first ADHD support app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use Anchor, how that information is used, and what choices you have.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Anchor iOS app and related support communications.

It does not cover Apple's services (such as the App Store, StoreKit, iCloud, or Apple subscriptions), which are governed by Apple's own policies.

2. Privacy by Design Summary

Anchor is designed to work primarily on-device:

  • No required account to use the app.
  • No third-party advertising SDKs.
  • No remote behavioral analytics SDKs.
  • No sale of personal data.
  • Feature data (tasks, reminders, habits, timer data, decisions, preferences) is stored locally on your device.

3. Information Processed by Anchor

A. Information you create in the app (stored locally)

Anchor processes and stores data needed to run app features, including:

  • Daily Wins data (task text, completion status, dates, display order).
  • Habits data (habit names, emoji, streaks, completion history, archive status).
  • Reminders data (title, optional notes, due date, repeat pattern, completion status, snooze count, notification ID).
  • Timer data (duration, optional task label, session start/end time, completion/early stop status, extension count).
  • Saved timer presets/favorites (label, duration, usage metadata).
  • Decide-for-Me data (option lists, saved decision templates, chosen result, limited decision history).
  • Home/dashboard and tab configuration (widget layout, selected/pinned items, visible tabs).
  • Appearance preferences (theme, accent), onboarding completion state, and certain UI preferences.

B. Notification and device feature data

If you enable relevant features, Anchor uses:

  • Notification permission state to schedule reminder and timer notifications.
  • Notification content you created (for example, reminder title or timer label) in local notifications shown by iOS.
  • Live Activity state for timers (for example, timer end time, phase, optional task label) for Lock Screen/Dynamic Island display.
  • Audio session/background audio state for soundscapes and timer sounds.

C. Subscription and purchase status (Apple-managed)

Anchor uses Apple StoreKit for subscriptions and restoration. Through StoreKit, the app may access subscription-related status data such as:

  • Product identifier.
  • Entitlement status.
  • Expiration/renewal status.
  • Revocation status for transactions.

Payment processing and billing information (including payment card details) are handled by Apple, not by Anchor.

D. Support communications

If you contact support (for example at anchor@mindreveal.ai), we process the information you include in your message (such as your email address and support request details) to respond and provide support.

4. Information Anchor Does Not Collect for Its Own Servers

For core app usage, Anchor does not require or collect:

  • Name, phone number, or social profile.
  • Account credentials for Anchor (no Anchor account system).
  • Advertising identifiers for ad targeting.
  • In-app behavioral analytics sent to third-party analytics vendors.
  • Camera, microphone recording, contacts, or location permissions for core functionality.

5. How Information Is Used

We use information to:

  • Provide app functionality you choose to use.
  • Save your preferences and feature state on-device.
  • Deliver reminders/timer notifications when enabled.
  • Verify and maintain subscription access through Apple StoreKit.
  • Respond to support requests.
  • Maintain app reliability and basic operational integrity.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share your in-app content with advertising networks.

We may disclose limited information only when necessary:

  • To Apple services required for app distribution, subscriptions, device backup, and platform operations.
  • If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights/safety.

7. Data Retention

  • App data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, or uninstall the app (subject to backup behavior).
  • Completed one-time reminders are automatically cleaned up after 30 days.
  • Decision history is intentionally limited (only the most recent accepted decision is retained).
  • “Reset to Defaults” resets app configuration (such as theme/layout settings) and does not erase all feature content.
  • If iOS backup is enabled, app data may persist in Apple-managed backups until those backups expire or are deleted.

8. Security

Anchor relies on iOS platform protections (including sandboxing and device security controls).

No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. You should keep your device updated and protected with a strong passcode/biometric lock.

9. International Processing

Anchor itself is designed for local on-device data handling.

When Apple services are used (for subscriptions, app distribution, or backups), Apple may process data in regions outside your location under Apple's terms.

10. Children's Privacy

Anchor is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has entered personal information into the app, please delete that data from the device and contact support if needed.

11. Your Choices and Controls

You can:

  • Edit/delete many records directly inside app features.
  • Disable notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
  • Manage/cancel subscriptions in Apple subscription settings.
  • Control iCloud/device backups in Apple settings.
  • Contact support for privacy questions at anchor@mindreveal.ai.

12. Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, California, EEA/UK), you may have rights such as access, deletion, correction, portability, and objection/restriction rights.

Because Anchor is local-first and does not maintain a central user account database for core app content, many privacy actions can be completed directly on your device.

13. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as features or legal requirements evolve. The “Last Updated” date reflects the current version.
